Usyk vs Fury 2: Riyadh Rematch For Heavyweight Crown

Reigning heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk aims to defend his crown with a second victory over Tyson Fury in their anticipated rematch in Saudi Arabia this weekend.

The pair collided back in May, as Usyk handed Fury his first ever career defeat by split decision to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion for 24 years.

But Usyk has since vacated one of those belts, which Daniel Dubois later collected, meaning this rematch will only hold the unified titles on the line.

That won’t affect the motivation of ‘The Gypsy King’ though, who looks to avenge that maiden loss and even the score with his Ukrainian rival in Riyadh.

Here's everything you need to know ahead of fight night, with our full Usyk vs Fury 2 fight preview.

Usyk vs Fury 2 Fight Preview

Usyk secured his legacy as one of the greatest fighters of his generation with that monumental feat earlier this year, adding the undisputed heavyweight distinction to his past undisputed cruiserweight reign.

The defending champion was on the verge of stopping his British rival in a dominant ninth round in their first showdown and eventually edged the scorecards, with the final tallies reading 115-112 and 114-113 in his favour and 114-113 for Fury.

An Olympic Gold medallist and two-division undisputed world champion, there’s no denying Usyk’s standing in boxing history.

The 37-year-old southpaw is now seeking further notches on his legacy at this later stage of his historic career, beginning with a second successive triumph over Fury this weekend.

Meanwhile, the dethroned former champion wants to avenge that high-profile setback and regain the heavyweight crown to potentially set up a trilogy clash later in 2025.

Usyk is favoured to prevail once again in another monumental event, as he attempts to defend his throne at Kingdom Arena and secure what would then undoubtedly be a Fighter of the Year achievement.
